Molly introduced me to this song which may be old news to others, but I dig it.  The video isn’t by the band but by a student filmmaker and, I assume, a fan.  I like this version better probably because it was the first one I saw.  Anyway, it’s about the song.  Isn’t it always?

I got those dudes from Sunday night to offer to teach me to play the drums, which was undoubtedly drunk dreaming.  (See, me playing the drums is a part of my life when I also become a surfer.)  No indy band (see above) will ever insight my far-fetched desire to be in a rock band though.  I think I want to both do and be Anthony Kiedis.   Whatever weirdo day dreams get me through the day I can’t fault.

I love this song, the black light body paint, the cheese, the poor lip synching  and the clips of the woman with huge hair, which seem like an afterthought.  But the funniest Chili Peppers video I’ve encountered is True Men Don’t Kill Coyotes.  Don’t love the song the same way, but the video gives me several hearty laughs.

Me: I wish I had some Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Amanda (packing/puttering/procrastinating furiously): Why?

Me: I don’t know. I love them.

I was going to write my usual nonsense and listen to this song.  I pushed play and this song shooed out any other thoughts.
